History
With his family and crew’s help, Gordon Zitting designed this golf course. It took decades of work and commitment to get it done, but the result was more than worth it. Zitting had to study much of the Hurricane Valley area itself to map out the best blueprints and external-internal structures for design. Many changes have been made since inception, but now, the course is offering multiple special re-designs in which you can play golf at different setups and rates (for instance, every Wednesday, you can play in a different 9-hole course and have the chance to win $500 or more).
About the Course
The city hosts the annual Copper Rock Championship at this same golf course. You can see coverage from multiple past replay games and tournaments, not to mention documentaries detailing the course itself and more, right on the Golf Channel. In addition, this is right where several of the LGPA Tours for women golfers are held as well. The course is ideal for all kinds of pro players to tee off and work their shots in as it covers almost 7,000 yards and is of par 72 caliber with 18 incredible holes all around.
Directions to Copper Rock Golf Course
Now, how do you get to the Copper Rock Golf Course from our rentals in St. George, Utah? Luckily, the journey is relatively easy and only takes about 30 minutes.
First, you’ll want to get on UT-18 S and catch I-15 N at your first opportunity. Then go right off on N 1000-E (you should see Denny’s restaurant pass you up on the right). Then take a slight left to make your way on to E St George Blvd, which is also known as 100 N (and signs for both ought to be popping up at this point). Follow that for a while until you see a UT9 E or W STATE ST sign above, and take that exit right out of the Southern Pkwy ramp. Stay on 3000 S and follow it to the end, where you will see signs for the Copper Rock Golf Course coming up shortly!
