It’s educational, fun, and something different to add to your itinerary. The Rosenbruch World Wildlife Museum isn’t your average museum. There’s a lot to learn about the museum itself, outside of everything that it has inside. Here’s a quick glimpse at what you can expect from this museum.

About the Museum

The Rosenbruch World Wildlife Museum is one of the most popular museums in St. George, Utah. The founder, Jim Rosenbruch, wanted to bring the world to St. George by showcasing various animals that we can find at every corner of the world without having to travel the world. He wanted to bring some of the best animals from around the world to Utah and showcase them in their natural habitats for educational purposes.

As you walk through the museum, you’ll see over 300 different species of wildlife. You won’t just be seeing pictures and videos of these animals, but they’re all taxidermy versions of the animals, so they look far more realistic than simple pictures. That was Jim Rosenbruch’s vision. He wanted everything to look as authentic as possible to provide the best educational and recreational experience for visitors.

When we say that you’ll be able to see animals from every corner of the world, we mean it. You’ll be able to see animals that are local to Utah, from the Rocky Mountains, all the way to Africa and beyond. You’ll get to learn all about the animals you know and love while learning about new animals and maybe some things you didn’t know about them before.

As you walk around the museum, you’ll be able to listen to audio recordings where you’ll hear information about the animal, their habitat, and more. In addition to those facts, Jim Rosenbruch wanted to make sure that he elaborated on how the animal you’re viewing came to be at the museum.

If visiting the Rosenbruch World Wildlife Museum is on your list of things to do while you’re staying at The Ledges St. George, you can get to the museum in under 20 minutes if there’s no traffic. Either way, the museum is roughly ten miles away, so you won’t spend too much time getting to and from the museum.

Interactive Children’s Gallery

The entire Rosenbruch World Wildlife Museum is appropriate for every age group, but they also have an interactive children’s gallery for the little ones to explore. The Alan Gardner Interactive Children’s Gallery is a specific room within the museum that allows kids to have a more interactive and hands-on experience learning more about certain animals in the museum.

The room features fun things for the little ones to do while being in an immersive experience. The room feels welcoming and has children’s puzzles and toys relating to the museum and hands-on activities. When children enter the room, they’ll be able to touch different furs, horns, and more to learn how certain animals feel. The idea is that they’re able to “feel nature” in a way that is more exciting to them.

Besides touching and feeling different things, there’s a camping area where they can pretend like they’re camping. It’s set up with a real tent and camping dishes for them to play with and learn more about camping and the wilderness. Parents and guardians can come into the room with them and will love watching them explore and learn, all while having a great time.

Aaron Olsen Family Insect Room

The Rosenbruch isn’t just about the animals of the world. The owner incorporated a room dedicated to the various insects you can find throughout Utah and around the world. Aaron Olsen is an avid insect collector who turned his childhood hobby into a passion project, providing insects for this room in the museum.

Not only did Aaron Olsen want to show off his insect collection, but he wanted to spread awareness about certain ones and educate people on what they shouldn’t and shouldn’t avoid, and what better place to do so than at this St. George museum?
