About The Park

The Grand Canyon North Rim offers a quieter, more secluded experience compared to its bustling southern counterpart. Here, the vistas are no less impressive, the colors no less vibrant. For thousands of years, Native American tribes have called this incredible landscape home. Their rich cultural heritage is intricately woven into the fabric of the Grand Canyon’s history. European settlers, miners, and pioneers later charted pathways through this rugged terrain, each leaving a mark that today adds layers of depth to your visit. The National Historic Preservation Act has ensured that many of these noteworthy sites are preserved, offering a fascinating glimpse into the past.

When you step onto the North Rim, you’re not just stepping into a beautiful panorama. You’re walking through chapters of human history, geological marvels, and endless adventures. Eleven contemporary tribes still hold the area dear, their oral histories rich with tales of creation and survival, reminding us that the canyon is a living, breathing entity much older than we are.

The North Kaibab Trail is a more challenging endeavor, ideal for seasoned hikers.
